DeliweAge: 18:
Background: Deliwe used to stay with her grandmother and she was the only relative she had and the church members knew. Nobody has a profound history of Deliwe’s parents or her relatives. When Deliwe was in grade 6 her granny got sick and sadly she died, that’s when she stopped going to school for she had to look after herself. Fortunately, a well-wisher who used to attend the same church with Deliwe’s grandmother took Deliwe and lived with her which allowed her to continue with her primary education. Sadly, the well-wisher did not have enough funds to send Deliwe for secondary education, so she dropped out just after finishing her grade seven (7). A village health worker brought her to MTC Educate A Girl Inc after hearing about the foundation’s good deeds. Need: A bicycle! Deliwe walks over 8km one way to school every morning - rain, sunshine, or cold. |
BeverlyAge: 17
Background: Beverly's father died when she was in 4th grade and her mother managed to pay school fees up to 7th grade by picking concrete and selling it to constructors. Unfortunately, she got sick, became paralyzed, and is now unable to walk. Need: Her mother needs a wheelchair so she can be less dependent on Beverly for mobility. |
